Biography is an early documentary series running from 1961 to 1964 narrated by the late Mike Wallace. The series aired around 65 episodes of 30 minutes each and generally covered deceased male figures with political significance. These include Mark Twain, Mahatma Gandhi, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Josef Stalin, and others. The show is also noteworthy as the preservation of Cold War sensibilities with respect to the figures covered.
Several of these episodes have been digitized from 16mm prints circulated in schools following the syndication of the series.[1] Many of these can be found in an Educational Films section of Archive's massive video collection.[2] Other episodes have either not survived or have not been digitized and made public yet.
