    Conan Christopher O'Brien (born April 18, 1963) is an American television host, comedian, actor, writer, and producer. He is best known for having hosted late-night talk shows, beginning with Late Night with Conan O'Brien (1993–2009) and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (2009–2010) on the NBC television network, and Conan (2010–2021) on the cable channel TBS. Before his hosting career, O'Brien was a writer for the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 1988 to 1991, and the Fox animated sitcomThe Simpsons from 1991 to 1993. He has hosted the podcast series Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend since 2018, and starred in the 2024 travel show Conan O'Brien Must Go on Max.

    Latest News: Conan O’Brien Will Host the 2025 Oscars

    Conan O’Brien has been tapped to to host the 97th Academy Awards. Just after the official announcement was made on November 15, the Emmy Award–winning comedian and talk show host joked about his new gig on X (previously Twitter). “America demanded it and now it’s happening: Taco Bell’s new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme,” he wrote. “In other news, I’m hosting the Oscars.”

    This will be 61-year-old O’Brien’s first time hosting the Oscars, which was most recently emceed by fellow comedian Jimmy Kimmel. Known for his self-deprecating sense of humor, O’Brien has decades worth of live broadcast experience under his belt, having hosted late-night shows for more than 25 years.

    The 2025 Academy Awards ceremony will air live on ABC on March 2.
